What you saw about the videos was mostly filler, they were at a camp doing random stuff and it was entertaining if you had been following the characters, but otherwise crap.
Again, the subbed version is shit because USA voice actors are condescending garbage. Even if you're not a fan of screeching japanese, give it a try, they're much more according to what's actually happening on screen.
