the starters aren't the best but overall they are not bad designs. they are all pretty average, no major standouts bad or good
the Regional birds are fine, the Pheasant one with the sexual differences in plumage was well made and fit with the American setting (I would have preferred a Turkey though)
as for Braviary and Mandibuzz how can you hate the OggaBooga Vulture and MURICA eagle
the Apes suck but have their purpose in the game to get people started with an opposite type pokemon

the Deer look fine as well and are really distinct, nothing wrong with them just because of memes
the Pony looks strange but its just one pokemon
the Genies are fine too and have cool designs, people just hate them for being anthropomorphic
