Hey /vp/, I'm just about to face Norman in OR and once I get Surf and access to Route 119, I'm hoping to expand my team. This is what I have right now:

Nuzleaf (Leaf Stone when?)
Machamp
Muk
Trapinch

I really feel like I need a Water-type, especially. What do you guys recommend? And what should I pick for Slot 6?

Sharpedo for faster surfing. And Camerupt too I suppose because it hits pretty hard and gets good coverage.

Leaf Stone is on route 119. Sharpedo has a unique surfing model and it moves faster on the water. Otherwise Pelliper is a good all around choice for in game, but you'll need something else for dive and waterfall.

I've been considering using Pelipper. Never used one before, and every time I face one it annoys the shit outta me. I want to be on the other end. Sharpedo sounds cool, too, though, been a while since I've used one of them. And if I do go with Pelipper I can use Sharp as an aquatic HM slave.

I actually have a Camerupt in my PC box; I've been training fucking everything as I catch it so I've got boxes of critters. Just trying to settle into a team of unique pokemon. Stuff that'll be new to me.

Go for Milotic or Gyarados for Water.

Then nab a fire type, Camerupt is fine enough, but Torkal is much cooler.

Milotic is fun, but a pain to obtain. I don't know if you can get Prism Scale in ORAS.
Or try Wailord.

Probably gonna go for Wailord, and either bring back Camerupt or just see what else I can catch. Never used the fuckhuge whale before, can't wait to start.

Nah Milotic is a walk in the park to get now. It's a 1% encounter in the tiles near the waterfall (if not all the tiles, I forgot). Plus you can easily blend blue berries together and give them to it. The real challenge in RSE was that your blocks had to be perfect because there was a limit of how many you could give it. But now you can just stuff them in and get your fish.

Wait until you get near Fortree and get a Feebas and evolve it into milotic
They can always be found underneath the bridge closest to fortree. I picked one up and I'd forgotten what a special tank Milotic is, definitely my favorite gen 3 mon.
Also don't worry about getting Feebas' hidden ability since it changes to something pretty shit upon evolution.
