Do any of you anons own this Nintendo Power guide for Crystal?

Would you recommend it?

Holy shit, these fuckers are expensive, but there's absolutely no nostalgia and comfy like reading one within the confines of your blankets during a cold winter night.

It has been a few years but I did use the hell out of this as a kid. I remember it being thick-ish (a good sign) compared to Red's power guide. I would check for you OP but it is packed away.

If you like the guides then yes. I think it was 100 times better than Ruby's, I distinctly remember being very disappoin with RS guide after having this.

But im running on decades old memory.

Mobile connectivity in the Japanese version via phone. There's actually a global trade center thing afaik in it which is mindblowing for a gen 2 game.

There's tons of game balance fixes too.

I actually just found a scan rip of this guide online and I'm somewhat let down. Good thing I didn't order one.

Maybe the Versus Books is better.

This. Versus guidebooks in general were amazing. I've seen nothing that even compares to them.

I remember in Crystal Versus, every time you could attain a Pokemon you couldn't before, it would have a little written section about the usefulness (or lack of) of the pokemon, and talk about its stats and moves and stuff. It would show the pokemon and their levels that every single trainer encounter had. It had percentages for the wild encounter rates, instead of crap like "rare" or "average".

My favorite part of the Versus guidebooks were that they were actually funny sometimes. The writers address you like a friend, not like they're some professional just doing their job. Sometimes they'll make fun of certain things.

10/10 would recommend

Damn. Now I really want one.

But they're 10 to 70 USD in Ebay and Amazon PLUS shipping, and that's like 20 to 40 bucks MORE. Shit's ridiculous.

But I just love gen 2 so much I might end up actually buying one.
