I'm trying to play through older series now that I have some time. I really want to get into XY soon but I still have B/W to play. Is B/W 2 worth playing through? I feel like I would be playing the same game and seeing the same things as B/W.

Also does anyone burn out playing through different pokemon games?
I just went FR/LG then Plat Then SoulSilver and now about to start B/W THEN BW2 and getting to XY hopefully soon.

BW2 is significantly better than XY.

XY only has 70 new Pokemon and features an ugly lego block world with grass that looks like vomit. The maps take five seconds to traverse. You can't walk five steps without one of your "friends" instigating an unskippable cutscene about friendship. The music is really weird and experimental without any memorable melodies or an identity of its own (like Hoenn with the french horns and Sinnoh with the pianos). The main antagonist has ridiculous motivations, and the game lacks a true climactic moment.

BW2 was god-tier. The story was actually passable, the gyms were the best in the series, the routes were decent, the intro of hidden abilities were pretty cool, and it wasn't piss easy like XY and ORAS. It's right up there in quality with Platinum.

This. OP, if you play BW1 and enjoy it, then you'll really like BW2. It's not just the same game again.

I've heard that in BW1 we don't see older gen pokemon until National Dex. Is that true for BW2 as well?

Lastly, yes pokemon games are easy, but is it worth Giving Snivy a chance?

I want to love grass types but just....5 weakness and not so good move pools (for most of grass types). Would have been nicer if at least starter got some status attacks,etc

Honestly... no. The entire line is really well-designed, but gameplay-wise are mediocre or worse. Very disappointing, and a waste of a fantastic design. Serperior was the only starter I've ever boxed mid-game. There were so many interesting Pokemon in B/W that keeping Serperior in my team just because it was a starter wasn't worth wasting the slot.

I used Oshawott in B/W2 and it was a lot better.

One other thing - a lot of the Gen V internet functions have been shut down already, but if you use the "Game Sync" function on B/W, then later use it on B/W2 on the same account, you unlock some additional content in B/W2. So make sure you do that if you end up playing both.
