>>22405181Go to Pokemon-gl and look at the ranked battles section. Look at the most commonly used Pokes, and try to base your team around that. You will do well if you use guys like Talonflame, Greninja, Aegislash, Mega Khan, Landorus, Azumarill, Mawile, etc. Don't go on Smogon, their sets are not optimum and cater to their metagame, so you may be missing out on some of the finer points of the VGC metagame by trusting their shit.
Try to find a couple tanky pokes that can do other stuff for you. Porygon2, Gastrodon, Zapdos, etc. You should run a couple of tanky types, preferably ones that cover eachothers weaknesses. Ontop of that, throw 4 attackers, and don't forget to have a Physical one and a Special one at the very least. You can throw in a support Poke as well, maybe a Prankster Klefki or a Sableye.
Don't waste your time trying to train Pokes that you "like". If you build a coherent team using a selection of the most powerful Pokemon, you will at least be mediocre.
