Especially if it is only for personal use in their own game. Though I can accept there being a gray area when it comes to genned mons for competition.

I haven't tried it yet, but do you know if you can backup your current game, start a new game and back that up separately, and revert to the old backup again? Effectively having multiple games going that you could switch between?
As for genning up silly things for fun, that is also great. Like doing a run with all 5 of the HA Legendaries you can get from the Dream Radar at Lvl 5.
