Unlike DPPt, there's not a lot of evidence ORAS chaining increases shiny rate. Anectdotal evidence doesn't point to a rate that's higher than the fact XY+ORAS have a higher base shiny rate than Gens II-V.

assuming it does and assuming bulbapedia numbers are accurate, you only have a 50% chance to have found a shiny after 130 encounters. Get longer chains and keep your nose on that grindstone. Your highest chance doesn't even come around until 40 encounters in.

Just checked Bulbapedo's page. They usually have formulas, this honestly reads like someone is guessing. I'm confuse.

It's because they read the ROM dumps for the formula in past generations. They haven't gotten around to that yet, though ORAS dups exist.
