>>22436907The beginning had an overarching plotline and wasn't slow paced. Most of the fillers were really shit though. People also liked it because of the fast pace coming straight from the DP series where Ash went an entire season without a gym battle. (people seem to forget that the Galactic Arc went on during that time among many other things)
The problem with BW was when the Earth somehow became aware of the customized Kodomo no Jikan figure where some guy molded Rin some genitals and actually created a piece representing a urine trail coming from her genitals. No self-respecting planet would want to pay host to something like that, so there was a massive earthquake in the hopes that the resulting tidal wave would wash the figure out to sea. Unfortunately, the earthquake came at the extremely inopportune time of the week before the heavily-hyped climax to the first BW arc, resulting in it never airing and the whole of BW up to that point leading up to a set of episodes we would never see.
After 25 episodes filled with filler, BW finally got going again and was reasonably good right up until after the Meloetta arc. A little thing called the Unova League happened.
5 episodes, the first of which Trip (the supposed series rival) was defeated by Ash in a 1v1 in the first round. We were then treated to a completely pointless filler about Axew getting lost again, despite the fact that this had been done several times already. This resulted in the skipping of two of Ash's league battles. And that's not even the worst of it, Ash's 'league rival' was a character called Cameron, who is literally the worst character ever conceived by media. He defeats Ash in a 5v6 battle, despite being the most retarded character in the show and only having 5 Pokémon. The Unova League is by far the worst thing the writers have ever done, easily topping the dropping of the GS Ball.
