Remember after every OS episode back in the day when Ash would literally tell you to go to Toys R Us? Those days are over. New Ash is brave, super-heroic, and so cool that his friends praise him, but still has the quirks that make him Ash. He isn't a complete idiot either, he travels with genius Clement who he acts like a bro to, and Serena who's basically a lady that Ash treats like a gentleman. His Pokemon actually evolve now, the gym battles are actually battles, and he actually trains and gets serious.

I've been watching the anime and I must say I really dislike Ash. He's become a Mary Sue (calling him a Gary Stu would be ironic), he's rash and reckless and a terrible example for children overall. I really snapped when he jumped to the other side of the chasm using a fucking Fuwaride flock and then I vomited bile when he actually attempted to cross back (almost dropping best girl in the process).
