How the fuck did Rhyhorn defeat 5 of Red's pokemon? HOW did it beat a grass and a water pokemon and then tie to a fighting type?

Red represents the player that only ever trained his starter. He caught every pokemon, but only leveled them until they evolved, so most of them are pretty weak.
He probably only uses Charizard, the legendary birds, Mewtwo and Dragonite
