I've beaten the Sea Mauville couple at least 30 times. Is there a secret to having them give me the Destiny Knot?

I've actually gotten it more often when I have one male and one female pokemon in the battle. Maybe there's a variable there.

Yep. Your fans after each show will give you items, and some times they'll give you a destiny knot. Plus, doing contests increases a pokemons affection (so you don't have to do amie).
