I got a hyper voice Swablu with DexNav during my first playthrough. It was shit up until it evolved and got cotton guard, and when I got the altarianite it practically carried my team.

I actually ended up with an overleveled Modest Swablu with Hyper Voice and 3 perfect IVs. Considering that Return isn't available till Pacifidlog and Dragon Dance requires a Heart Scale, I opted to run special Altaria for the playthrough. It was actually surprisingly impressive. Even Swablu was able to hold it's own, soloing Archie and Flannery before it evolved. Best experience with the Pokemon I've ever had, considering what a pain it normally is to raise Swablu.

And being able to get Altarianite before endgame was great. Star of my run.

Nah, most of the people who were abusing the Mence rapetrain have moved over to Megagross. Altaria is a great Dragon Dancer, and certainly much better in the absence of Mence, but it's not clearly broken enough or badass-looking enough for most bandwagoners.

But anon, that's wrong. Physical is better for Dragon Dance sets (of course), but special is almost better for everything else. You get Hyper Voice for stuff like Sub belly Drum Chesnaught, SubDD Mega Gyarados, Draco Meteor for ZardX, Fire Blast for Bullet Punch Scizor and Ferrothorn, ect.

If you're not running DD, special is far superior. The only things physical handles better are Heatran and Chansey, IIRC.
