There was a kinda interesting one not too long ago, where Ash and friends are attending a summer camp in Kalos, Poke-france. They get served very stereotypical Japanese curry for dinner.
Sounds like a minor oversight by animators that didn't realize non-Japan doesn't serve food like that, right? Well, they've generally been prtty good at making sure to use French/western food during XY.
Then you realize that James is the chef, and he's Japanese. He also specifically points out that this is his recipe.
