>>22463458It's harder for plushies to get damaged in transit if you're importing them from another country. Whenever you buy figurines and they get shipped any distance, there's a higher risk that they'll be damaged along the way, especially if they're highly detailed. Even more so if you're ordering something that's porcelain instead of plastic.
Plushies also tend to be significantly cheaper while being larger than figurines which gives them more of a significance than a tiny plastic statue.
You can also just play with or handle them more without worrying about them breaking. Often when I've bought a figurine I spend some time looking at it, fiddling with its fragile pieces of it comes with extras you can swap around, and then sticking the thing in a glass cabinet to never be touched again.
Plushies on the other hand, you can toss them about, squash them, hug them, all that stuff and they won't break or tear (unless you're really trying to or you've got some poorly made bootleg crap.)
They're just easier to own really.
