I wish all pokemon had a signature move. A move that's the same power/accuracy as another, but with an added effect and a new name. it's sad that whenever a pokemon has one, someone else gets it in the new game

This could be a good way to give some competitive use to Pokémon who are otherwise just outclassed.
Why use Beheeyem over Reuniclus? Oh, because it has Tractor Beam, and you want to trap the opponent while damaging it. Boom.
Hypno's worse than Musharna? Can Musharna use Pendulum to put the opponent to sleep and swing straight out to another Pokémon? Thought not.

Can't be bothered writing this essay, so, I'll just post some ideas here instead.

Tropius -> Cornucopia : The target gains the effect of a random berry. If the target has no held item, they will hold the berry instead. However, the berry will not remain after the end of the battle.

A bunch might be useless, but that's because we're going by theme.

Voltorb/Electrode gets Electrosplosion. It's a Special Type Selfdestruct with electric element instead of Normal.

Hitmonchan can get Haymaker. It's a 70 BP fighting move that gets boosted by Iron Fist. Sharply raises attack if it causes an enemy to faint.

Hitmonlee already has rolling kick, which I'm pretty sure no one else learns. Hitmontop has Triple kick already too. Hitmonchan needs his own signature move, even if it's sort of stupid and copies Fell Stinger.

Species would be easier. Think about it, all Volcano pokemon, like Typhlosion or Entei get a fire-type explosion that gives all pokemon on the field that aren't KO'd either a burn or reduced accuracy, since exploding volcanos cause ashfall which can burn you and obscures visibility.

Mouse species getting a protect move that only protects from physical attacks and gives the attacker a confusion status if their move is protected against, since, you know, mice are good at hiding and its infuriating.

Balloon pokemon getting a explosion type of move that has variable damage based on how much HP they have left, since a popping balloon has a varying amount of loudness based on inflation.

Flame pokemon getting a move that reduces your hp by a random amount but increases speed and special attack accordingly, since fires burn hotter and faster with the more fuel they have.

Ice pokemon getting a move that acts like swift, but instead of doing damage, causes freeze status. Because fuck you ice types need love too.

Man, with all these unique moves, metronome and Smeargle and going to get even more interesting.

Flygon line gets Dust Devil. It's just Sand Tomb with higher Base Power and 100% accuracy.

Luvdisc gets Mark of Love, which causes attraction, even if your opponent is the same gender or genderless.

Nidoking line could get Bravado, which is just dragon dance wit a different name (now you have a good reason to use Physical Nidoking). Nidoqueen line could get Prudence, which raises Speed and Defense (sort of crappy, but makes a nice mirror. Besides, Nidoqueen is already better most of the time anyway).

Don't each individual mon gets a unique move. It would be even more ridiculous since if you evolved it right, Clefable could have its own unique move, as well as clefairy and cleffa's unique moves. That would be weird, and needlessly confusing.

For being named GarCHOMP, be doesn't rreally use a tone of biting moves. Fix this by saying his line learns Earth Bite, which is just a ground type Crunch at a low level (like, right 1 level before Gible turns into Gabite). Now biting things is part of the Garchomp experience. Also, it barely effects his overpowered-ness since most people would think Earthquake is better anyway.

Celebi is supposed to be a time traveler, but has no abilities that reflect this. Here's one:

The problem with signature moves (and by signature I mean it really is confined to the Pokemon that learns it, not like starter Pokemon signature moves which gets handed around eventually) is distribution. Once one Pokemon gets a "better" version of a regular move, that's it. Other Pokemon can pack up and go home they're stuck with the shittier regular version forever. Pikachu and Volt Tackle especially, Fire Pokemon get to enjoy Flare Blitz but since Pikachu hogs the Electric version of it, other physical Electrics have to use Wild Charge instead which has the same/lower BP than Play Rough, Earthquake and Leaf Blade but with an unnecessary recoil.

I think secondary effects might be the way to go, especially ones that are hard to quantify.
For example, choosing between Iron Head with 80BP, 100% accuracy, 30% flinch chance, and Meteor Mash with 90BP, 90% accuracy, 20% chance of Attack boost... There's not much in it, really. It's not the end of the world that only Metagross gets STAB Meteor Mash, since Iron Head's perfectly good, but you still might decide it's worth running Meteor Mash on Metagross.

The other thing I guess would be things like changing the moves of other types, like if some Pokémon got a Fairy-type Power-Up Punch. That's clearly just a specific bonus for one Pokémon, nobody would argue that every type needs its own Power-Up Punch.

I love Castform, it is sad how lame the poor little thing is. On the other hand, it proved pretty great in ORAS. 100BP Weather Ball + STAB + 1.5x from Rain/Sun is nothing to be sniffed at, it's just that real opponents aren't polite enough to give you a turn to set up weather.

I was praying for mega for it in oras it's my fav pokemon, i have no idea why gamefreak decided to give it base 70 in every stat :(. also y no rock form always confused me, i guess becuase it has no moves to work off.

want to try and use it with tailwind wind support, maybe togekiss with follow me and tail wind might make it somewhat usable in doubles but even then it may not work

Agreed. I hate that the Musketeer Quartet had Sacred Sword and now some more Pokemon have it. I'm pretty sure, if it hasn't already happened because I'm not 100%, that someone will get the Kalos Starters' signature moves: Mystic Fire, Mat Block (I know that Water Shuriken has already been taken) and Spiky Shield.

Yep. Mismagius got mystic fire, cacturne got spiky shield, and accelgor got water shuriken. Mat block is still signature to greninja, though.

Drifblim - Hot Air

Goes up into air for a turn, when it comes down its Defense and Speed raise drastically. (something can switch in on it while in the air though, so kinda risky)

Pangoro - Bamboomerang

Has 150 power, but comes back to damage the user at 150 power the next turn. (you can switch to a death fodder or someone that can take it though)

Wailord - Filter Swallow

Hits all enemies on the field with 100 damage, but any non-Water type that gets hit does 20 power dmg to Wailord

Dewgong - Heavy Hail

Does twice as much as normal hail, Ice Body pokes are healed twice as much

To be fair, it's made out of water, like a raincloud, so it turning into rock would make a huge amount of sense. I guess its sunny form is still a little iffy on those grounds, but I guess anything can get really hot.
What'd be great is if it automatically changed the weather whenever you used a Fire-, Ice-, or Water-type move.
I'm also pretty disappointed that it doesn't go pseudo-Mega when Desolate Land or Primordial Sea are active. I know that would never happen, seeing how those are confined to just two Pokémon, but I can imagine Desolate Land Castform getting gigantic and uncontrollable like Calcifer in Howl's Moving Castle.

Grimer evolution line: Goop (Version of Toxic Spikes that also lowers Evasion and won't be removed by switching to a Steel or Poison mon)
Eeveelutions: Bravery (Acts as Endure, and if they are attacked they damage the enemy like Reversal)
