I kinda had a weird idea for a new feature in a future game.
What if you could essentially "reroll" a mon? Like, take it to a specific place after completing a sidequest and revert it back to an egg. Say the next game has a Ho-oh up for grabs after beating the E4, and the place you get it from has a shrine or someshit that lets another poke be "reborn" by the power of Ho-oh because it has power over rebirth.
The pokemon being reborn will revert back to an egg and keeps its OT, nickname, friendship level, and egg moves but has its IVs, EVs, and shiny chance rerolled. Wouldn't that make breeding a fucking breeze? No more filling up boxes and boxes of rejects that you have to release one at a time when you can just hatch ONE of them and bring it back to the place to be rerolled until you get it right. Or maybe you wanted to raise a mon you can only get one of from an egg and bank it to start a new game with.
What do you guys think about that? Good idea or bad?
