Personally I liked that the two legends were imbalanced. It was a sort of rough analogue to the fact that there's more water/sea than land on Earth (and the pokemon planet).

It also made sense because pokemon have always had weaknesses. The relationship between kyogre and groudon (and rayquaza) is mirrored in many ways by the legends of kalos (xerneas, yveltal and zygarde), including this imbalance of power.

What rustles my jimmies harder, though, is that gamefreak caved to all the faggoots calling Magma the "fire" team and made Groudon part Fire, when it's always been the Land pokemon and team magma is based on the ground type too.

Kyogre is still good due to better typing and rain is a much better weather effect.

Honestly, before Groudon got buffed Kyogre was the defacto victor of the two.

You know the reason primal Kyogre wasn't water/electric was so that Groudon wouldn't be even further superior to it by making Kyogre weak to Groudon's STAB

Why? You realize there is more land than water on earth, right? What do you think all that water is on top off, rice? It only makes sense Groudon gets the power up that makes him immune to something that just sits on top of land.
