Earth Power Heatran seems like it would pair well with Serperior. HP Fire is a much serperior (haha get it) option in general over HP Ground but leaves it completely stopped by opposing Heatran.

Tran also either resists or is immune to every SE hit aimed at Serperior, most notably Talonflame (who is one of the better offensive counters to Serperior).

I'm just theorymonning though.

Honestly, I don't thing it would fare well at all in OU.
Base 75 SAtk is just too little, even at +2.
You are outsped by any max speed Scarfer from base 59 (lol) and above (ib4 Scarfed Serperior, that just won't work). Serperior's niche in RU atm is it's versatility when the opponent switches in damaged and you are at +2.

Well you DO have to alternate between Storm/Pulse/HP/Sub or whatever to take advantage of that meager +2. Point is, Scarf practically forces you to run mono Grass so it's shit. You have to go 4 attacks LO or sub lefties 3 attacks.
Chansey SHITS on you, Twave/Toxic make it hard for any stallbreaker/fighting type to switch in.
Also, good luck switching Serperior into anything in OU. It has quite the bulk for RU, but in OU it's a different story.

Anyway, I'm sitting at 1200 in RU atm. Team is here: http://pastebin.com/PvBRyewn

Magneton and Dugtrio are trappers, one fast and one bulky.
Alomomola shits on Slowking, Cresselia, Glalie and Fletchinder. Everything in the tier that appreciates a Toxic (Gurdurr, Doublade etc) doesn't appreciate a Knock Off. Except Cobalion, who is afraid of Scald (and couldn't touch Alomomola anyway.
Gurdurr and Pidgeot are just there for damage. One Special and one physical, one fast and one bulky.
Serperior is there for fun.

Serp might honestly be an interesting stallbreaker. I can't think of much other than Heatran that stall would have to stop it once it gets a free turn.

Bulkzard X and Venusaur have kind of fallen out of popularity to Slowbro and Sableye.

Gren has a few counters and more than enough checks. Suspect ladder was just way more balance and stall centric, and the only ho variants were really just mgross because of how much offensive presence it shits all over the place.

Serp will get banned from uu for being too amazing, and it has more than enough relevant stops in uu so it'll probably be a mon that's thrown on balance/offense to check and beat (depending on the opposing mons) opposing offense/balance because of it's nice speed tier and how much a +2 lo leaf storm hurts. The fact that it's almost walled by the nidos hurts but that's not terrible.

sejun park used pachirisu because, even though it was a shitmon, it was a perfect fit for his team and had the utility moves and ability he needed, and while dedenne shares the pikaclone status as well as shitty offensive stats, it has worse defensive stats with a worse movepool and ability.
dedenne is shit, and trying to use it is really just gimping your team. I can't see an option where it would be better than another option.

it's a pokemon whose only stab is grass, with no extra coverage moves outside of dragon pulse, which hits nothing but dragons for SE. while contrary leaf power is strong, when it's coming off of 75 special attack it's really nothing special. Even malamar, who can abuse contrary superpower and has a movepool to speak of, has 92 attack. The only things that serp really has going are the nasty plot boost and good speed, but it still won't go beyond bl2 imo.

The standard Serp set is:

Life Orb
Timid
252 Special Attack / 252 Speed / 4 Defense or Special Defense

Leaf Storm
HP Fire
Dragon Pulse
Giga Drain

HP Fire is used because it handles every relevant Steel-type except Heatran, and you'd have to run HP Ground for it which means sacrificing coverage on everything else. Dragon Pulse hits Latios and other Dragons, and Giga Drain is great for conserving Leaf Storm's PP once you reach +6, lets you switch out and set up multiple times, and restores HP.

You can also run support sets, like Leftovers/Light Clay, Leaf Storm, HP Fire, dual screens. Or Glare, that works too.

Been using SubSeed, Leafstorm, HP Fire Serperior. Basically the randoms set. Subseed stops a ton of mons as it forces switches and forces the stall war with Chansey, and I've actually beat more people with that then Leaf Storm shenanigans. Trying to figure out the optimal EVs. I've been using Timid max Speed/SpA. MegaVenu is still a full stop to it and always will be, but with so many viable Megas running around, I haven't come across it.
