>>22486343The original Red and Green games were released in 96 in Japan, so 2016 would be the 20th anniversary. Knowing the franchise, where they don't even need a reason to put out remakes (FR, LF, HG, SS, ORAS) imagine how likely it is that they do, when there's actually a reason to release them.
Of course this is all speculation, but it fits well with the fact that the anime is taking things so so slowly, so in the events we get a XY2 they'll just add stuff in, pretty much like what happened with BW/BW2, also the fact that Kalos was suspiciously cut in half (half map of France), that Zygarde has two signature moves unused/non released, and that Volcanion hasn't even been mentioned (new movie material).
tl;dr Looking at clues all over, we'll probably get a sequel to XY in 2015 and remakes to RBG in 2016.
