Nintendo has dropped off the remaining 53% stock they own in Game Freak because Iwata said "They're too incompetent", they sold off their remaining stock shorty after Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire because Iwata hated it, even saying "Even Yoshi's New Island is better then this", ORAS only came out solely because fans wanted it and nothing else.
Nintendo used to own all of Game Freak's stock (have done so since 1999 to avoid another Click Medic), but they sold off 46% of the company back to then to pay off Wii U losses in 2013, this is the 2nd time they sold back stock in the company.
Gen 7 will be the last gen that Game Freak will work on as after that Nintendo will cut them off because "They're to incompetent too work with" and theres a 97.6% chance that Monolith Kyoto will replace them so that "They will be relevant to us" as after X & Y came out Iwata told Monolith Kyoto to fix Game Freak's sloppy coding because Iwata hated it, Monolith Kyoto's staff said "This is to sloppy, lets reprogram the game from scratch" and they not only done that, but got the game running at a non-stop 60FPS as well (this version never got released).
Also around the same time The Pokemon Company got Game Freak's stock in the company, making them have 34% of the company (Nintendo & Creatures still having 33% each).
