Ok seriously, why people keep saying Gardevoir is a furry? I really don't see how a Pokemon like Gardevoir is a furry

>No fur/hairs all over the body
>No tails
>No feline ears
>No sharp teeth
>Walking on 2 legs

>No an earth-animal
>Based on humans, or at least look like one

Furry is used as a general term by a lot of people for when you want to fuck heavily animal-like humanoids (or if you want it can simply refer to a style of character design, not necessarily porn related etc. etc., it varies). Some people would say wanting to fuck a sharkgirl is furry even though they're not a furry animal.

By that common use of the word, Gardevoir is arguably furry. While it doesn't really show any traits directly relating to any animal besides humans, it's part of a franchise where such creatures (the Pokemon themselves) are portrayed as more animal-like beings as opposed to being of equal, similar or greater intelligence than humans.

You could argue that Gardevoir (assuming it can communicate through telepathy) passes the Harkness test and has little to no animal-like traits, making it a real fringe element, but people would still claim its furry since it just ain't human.

They are cute though.

Pokemon are clearly different in nature to real life animals, I agree, but they're still generally portrayed as more like animals than beings of equal or greater intelligence/sapience than humans. The parallels with Pokemon in the Pokemon world and real animals are clear - people can train them, have them as pets or work with them (hell that's how they're introduced in every game even).

Which goes back to the OPs point. Gardevoir is a Pokemon, Pokemon have direct correlations to real animals even if Gardevoir itself does not, and thus people are likely to call it "furry".

Given that Gardevoir is extremely human-like in shape and height, as well as possessing intelligence/understanding similar to a human's - if not greater, given her psychic abilities - it makes no sense to refer to her with the same blanket term used for simple animals. Bringing up the fact that she isn't human isn't an excuse to use that term either, since she's so human-like that the proper term would be HUMANOID. There is never any excuse to call Gardevoir a furry, or her fans furries, and the people who do are either hardcore baiting or simply Platinum Mad because they want to fuck a Bidoof and are upset that their creepy fetish isn't acknowledged as much as Gardevoir is.

My own shiny female Gardevoir was legitimately born on Valentines Day (2014) in Y, and I love her with all my heart.

I'd say that they do need a different name simply because the things that they're romantically interested in are clearly different. There's a fine line between wanting to get physically intimate with something that's very similar in form and understanding to a human girl and wanting to get physically intimate with a 4-foot tall rabbit. Lopunny and Lucario simply aren't very human-like in shape or mind. However, Lucario has been shown to be mentally human-like in his movie, and I guess Lopunny/Lucario being bipedal is enough for some people. However you look at it, Gardevoir is very different from other Pokemon, and I believe that it's wrong to throw her fans under the same blanket term as people romantically interested in clearly animal-like Pokemon.

About Pokemon being slaves: When you consider how they always seem excited to battle, and how happy they are to be with trainers who love and care for them, are they really slaves? If a Pokemon wants to leave its trainer or wipe them out of existence, it has more than enough power to do so. But regardless of that, Pokemon continue to coexist amongst humanity and stay by their trainer's side. That's why Pokemon are companions and friends, not slaves.

In the show, a lot of Pokemon willingly join Ash & co's teams because they do something to help them, or because they earn their trust. For instance, Ash's Froakie joined him after he earned its trust, and the Froakie willingly put itself in the Pokeball. This definition would therefore include the obvious ones like Eeveelutions, and also things like Lugia [which doesn't have fur, but is based on an animal] and Dunsparce [which is based on a fictional animal].

If a Pokémon is based on an object or something that isn't an animal, it's xenophilia. That'd include things like Aegislash [an object], Metagross [a computer/machine], Gardevoir [a ballroom dancer/knight] etc.

I keep thinking that Pokemon is like a damn triangle when it comes to porn

Gardevoir has been a main pokemon in my team since G3 and its for 2 reasons, 1)i would fug it 2)It's a good pokemon to train [of course, there are better pokemon]

Yeah, it was the first episode to feature Gardevoir, Ralts, and Kirlia. Max found a Ralts that was part of a Gardevoir & Kirlia's group alone and in trouble, so he rescued her and kept her for a little while. He protected the Ralts from Team Rocket at some point, and then let the Ralts reluctantly go back to the Gardevoir & Kirlia at the end. The Ralts telepathically spoke to him saying something like "Please come back for me someday Max" and both Ralts and Max were upset to leave each-other. On top of that, there are multiple episodes that have the Ralts line telepathically communicating with people, so that guy is essentially talking out of his ass.

It's not 'furry' technically but it IS anthro, which is often conflated with 'furry'.

Funny thing is, 'anthro' does not typically include humanoid mythological creatures like Elves, Orcs or Harpies which do get porn dedicated to them.

I would argue that certain Pokemon, like Alakazam and Gardevoir are intelligent enough to be on par with humans, if not well above. I think any Pokemon to have an Urban habitat is on par with humans.
