Does every wild pokemon you defeat die after the battle, since they can't run to a pokemon center and get cured?

Just think of how many hundreds of pokemon you have murdered over the years

And when and how do they get healthy again?

If you paralyze a pokemon it will be helpless when another pokemon tries to kill or eat it. If you poison it the poison will eventually kill it. If it's frozen or burned that will kill it too

And if it doesn't have any status conditions it's still too weak to do anything if any threat arises after you leave

My headcanon is that when a wild Pokemon faints, it uses a pseudo-Rest. This is really only useful for survival purposes, so when you catch a Pokemon it'll lose this ability until you release it.

When a wild pokemon 'faints' they're actually just getting the fuck our of there after getting their asses kicked. Says so in the gamecube game.

Reminder that 'fainted' is actually just 'unable to battle' in the Japanese versions, that's why they can still surf and what not. The trainer has just decided they shouldn't fight more till they've recovered.
