Pangoro is usable at least. No Fairy can switch into his Banded Gunk Shots and Iron Fist boosted Hammer Arms for the Fighting neutral fairies. Its miles better than Scrafty.

The thing with Hyd is that it was never really that good. Since Gen V GF has been trying to make pseudos less broken, and I can't condemn them for it.

Though I wouldn't be surprised they did it because even in gen 5 development they already had the idea for mega evolution and started making them less broken so they have something to improve in their future Megas.

He's still not stellar but fuckin damn does it feel good for Granbull to not just be "Worse Ursaring" anymore. (Worsering?)

And Granbull's actually a pretty sweet tank with Intimidate and his nifty new typing. Play Rough/Earthquake gets good coverage with loads of other options; his base 120 Attack hits hard with even minimal investment. And he's got a huge support movepool with Heal Bell. He can even go full Defense investment and just run Super Fang with three utility slots.

My nigga. I wish they give it Drain Punch or Slack Off or some self recovery. I think it would've been a physical wall in UU since Dark,Dragon,and Fighting types are common as fuck and Clefable and Altaria are better options in higher tiers. Its nice that they gave a shit to remove it out of Ursaring's shadow but they could've done much more than just retype and calling it a day.

You can't really compare 124 base attack to 160 with sheer force and a 150BP STAB move though. Pangoro has better bulk, but Rampardos can check Talonflame and set up Rock Polish in the mean time. Of course, if Talonflame predicts the Rock Polish it can just brave bird twice, which kills the dinosaur.

But now that he's got Super Fang from ORAS, I'm considering a new set that toys with more purely utility options. Maybe Super Fang, Toxic, Heal Bell, and Roar. Sounds kinda lame, but might be fun. Been meaning to rebreed anyway, I know a little more about EV spreads now so I'm wondering if I can get more creative than max/max/4 to better deal with threats.
