Rock type in itself is good but GF are horrible at designing them, lets just assume within context of Doubles since that is what GF designs around. For one thing there isn't a single good rock type special attacker.
Lunatone has the best potentials but it's stats are embarassing with no recovery and NO FUCKING ROCK STAB. In fact it's a fucking moon Pokemon who doesn't learn half of the moon related moves.
Probopass s.atk is too low to do anything.
Cradily again too low s.atk.
Aurorus, embarrassing speed and horrific defensive typing.
Omastar horrendous defensive typing and s.def along with terrible speed even after setup.
M-Diancie is the best rock type special attacker yet is illegal in official formats.
Tyrannitar is literally all you get.
