>>22517745You know that people have every right to be disappointed if something doesn't live up to their expectations, right? They paid for the game, and if they feel it wasn't worth their money when they're done with it, then that's the way it is. None of the expectations listed are 'ridiculous', anyways.
Expecting a Battle Frontier made sense, because Battle Frontier was introduced in gen III.
Expecting better secret bases made sense, because the 3DS is a pretty powerful console and can handle more than fifteen pieces of furniture in a single room (see: Animal Crossing).
Expecting contests to not suck made sense, because I don't think I know anyone who liked contests or berry blending in the first place.
Expecting framerate not to drop to 2fps when you turn on 3D made sense, because this was an obvious problem in XY that they really could and should have fixed by now.
That said, the implications of Battle Frontier as paid DLC are fucking horrible. If they make any sort of money off of this, ALL subsequent games will have removed content just so that they can charge you an extra ten bucks for a battle facility you already paid for in a previous game. Oh, you want Volcanion? That's a $2.99 event! Sorry, you can only visit the move tutors once a day - or you can buy Tutor Points for $1.99 a pop! Not enough BP and don't want to grind at the Maison? Here, buy a 10-point card! Japan is really starting to cash in on this kind of stuff so the risk is there, just look at Bravely Default or SMT IV.
It opens the door for all sorts of ridiculous bullshit, and that's what this thread was about. A lot of people found ORAS lackluster and understandably feel frustrated that they might have to pay extra to make the game less shit.
