>>22528577These don't take into account anything beyond putting new art on existing cards that make varying levels of sense. The Gastly line are nothing like vampires and the Zubat line immediately below it uses a vampire bat theme. Even just copying existing cards, the matching fails.
I don't know what part of "clay dolls exposed to mysterious energy" makes it a zombie as opposed to a rock, but the fact that whoever made these was making a "zombie deck" (even though there's just cards of that type and no actual support for what zombies do in YGO) doesn't make them zombie-like.
There are normal monsters in YGO, but their presence is minimal aside from brief epochs of support. It's lazy to simply put art on a card, copy a bit of Pokedex data, put arbitrary and unfitting stats on it and call it a normal monster. Double so when the arbitrary stats on the card don't even make sense; Claydol doesn't have defenses equal to Baltoy's offenses, or vice versa.
And no, just because I don't like scenario A doesn't mean I must support polar opposite scenario B.
If it were up to me, the card game crossover would be with Magic. YGO's mechanics are restrictive and cumbersome and the metagame is forced by the publisher.
