One thing I never understand is the whole "Masuda said he would never do DLC" argument. If you look at his interview in 2013, he never says such a thing. He's not hyped or pushing for DLC, but he certainly never rules it out.

just bf no, never. and neither should any one else, dlc should be proportional to the original game.
MK8 dlc was good because its was 1/4 price for 1/2 the content.
hyrule warriors dlc when purchased through the bundled pack was good value.

the battle frontier is maybe 10% off the original game for so $10 is outrageously high

I don't support DLC usually cause a lot of the time it's not extra stuff but stuff that was cut and they put it back in.

This is literally something that was originally in a game, cut in the remake, then put back and charged 10 bucks for. If you don't think that's fucking bonkers even on gamefreaks terms then you're delusional. Probably still gonna pay for it though but I won't be happy. I haven't even gotten around to doing Pokebank yet but that makes more sense to me since servers require maintaining or whatever.

The BF is the only thing that I wanted out of ORAS. I skipped ORAS due to not being a big Hoenn fan and it not having a Frontier. I'd go out and buy ORAS if it were true and then get the DLC the day it's released.

They were clearly pushed into making it early. Plus they wouldn't have the sheer amount of existing nods to the BF if they hadn't been working on it already. No but I sympathize with Ridelyfags when Ice Climbers got cut. I have a habit of rooting for people like Ridleyfags and Flygonfags just because it's aggravating watching people treat them like shit and actively wish for them to not get what they want. What the fuck is wrong with Flygon getting a Mega? If it's distaste for the Pokémon itself, there are plenty of Pokémon I don't like that get attention from GF, and I know my shitmon isn't getting any ever, so if Flygonfags can get what they want good on them. Same for Ridleyfags, though I find it a lot less likely given his inclusion as a boss in the last two games; if they got their wish and Ridley was put into the game I'd be happy for them.

It's not about the issues at hand it's about the attitudes of the people that act like smug douchebags when something doesn't happen even though they wouldn't be affected at all by the people getting their wish. I'd love to see someone get what they've wanted after months or years of people screaming "BTFO XD" at them.

Well I admit that I am genrally in favor of the "NO BF WHY" threads than "I WANT MEGA FLYGON PLS", mainly because there was actually some reason to expect the BF. Although the amount of the threads have been way too much and I think it should slow down. However the BF spam hasn't gone on for as long as the Flygon spam which was practically continued over the whole lead-up to ORAS. If the BF spam continues I could see it becoming pretty obnoxious as well.

Although I'm incredibly disappointed about BF not being in, the disappointment came from the fact that GF have no integrity, rather than the feature itself, so if they release it as a paid add-on that will add further validity to my disappointment. The BF will be tainted, so not only will I not buy it because it's a cash grab, but I will not buy it because paying money for it will make it dirty.

HeartGold and SoulSilver added all the content from Crystal.

I concede that Crystal's additions were not as big as the BF, but it sets a precedent. The BF is rather a big part of Hoenn, to the point that it got its own entire filler season in the anime.

Plus, it's not like it's likely that we'd be getting a Delta Emerald, so not including the BF means it's unlikely that we're going to get it at any point now. DLC is a possibility, as is DE, but they aren't things that have precedent so they aren't something to count on unless we get some kind of announcement.

It's not unreasonable to assume a major feature of Hoenn would appear in the third version given the precedent of HG/SS. It's not unreasonable to assume they weren't aiming for a 1:1 remake of the inferior first two versions (except in plot of course). Now in hindsight you can make the argument that "it's just a remake for Ruby and Sapphire and only that" but there was no reason to assume that going into things, and it's worthy of complaint that Game Freak designed ORAS that way instead of adding third version features.

uhh, we had the original BF in Emerald obviously, a new one in Pt also used in HGSS. No true BF in BW2 but they did give us the PWT. People doesn't hype BF-style facilities for the first games of a generation , like BW or recently XY, because they bring so much else to the table and the postgame always suck in those games. But post game facilities usually gets a ton of attention when it comes to hyping the second set of games for a generation. I'm surprised if you haven't noticed this.

It's something I want in every game, I'm aware they aren't in most games for reasons so I don't expect them.

I expected it in ORAS because it was in Emerald and we don't get third versions of remakes (though now I'm hoping we do get one if we don't get the BF as DLC).

Why would I do that when we can just hack Emerald into more-or-less ORAS's content level, alter the BF to accept new movesets, and play?

MrDollSteak base for Emerald is coming. It's got bugs but it basically gives you Gen VI on GBA to hack with.

Of course if you just want to play with no damage split, there's simple hacks out there that add the content you want with no shit attached.

870 can be done by gathering sprites and using G3HS/Advanced series (just add an INI file) with little to no problem. It's this guy who's doing the actual hard work.

The rest isn't hard, just tedious. About the most you would be doing is adding in cries, which 100% can't be done with a tool when doing it with expanded Pokemon.

At the end of the day, they didn't remove ANY content. Maison is basically the Tower, different options like rentals would've been nice but it takes more wins to beat Maison than Frontier anyways. Plus they're saving all that stuff for the third version.

Because the 3 teams were formed when XY was completed. So ORAS (worked on by the C team) got 1 year dev time and the game released this year (worked on by the B team) will have had 2 years dev time, whilst this has been happening work has been going on the A team has been doing work on their next game.

I think ORAS is better than XY but not worth purchasing for me because I find Hoenn to be average and there's no Battle Frontier. If you don't have XY then it's worth it for the Gen VI features but if you have XY, then unless you're a fan of Hoenn I see no reason to get it.
