Pokemon XY2/Z/ORAS2 will not happen, nor will any other main series game in 2015.

Game Freak is taking a break, for when RG(B) re-remakes come in 2016, for the 20th anniversary!

Wrong.
There are a total of six "game of origin" values that produce a pentagon on a Pokemon's summary screen. Since the first four correspond to XYORAS, we can assume that the last two will also be the last two games of Gen VI. There are also two unused Ground-type moves whose animations appear to involve Zygarde's hexagonal scales: Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves.
They did more or less the same thing last generation with Freeze Shock and Ice Burn being included (but unused) in Black and White.

It's pretty fucking blindingly obvious that there will be two new games focusing on Zygarde to close out Gen VI.

Literally pointless. I for one do not want to visit Kanto for a 5th time, especially when XY were Kanto-y as fuck. They would've kept gen 1 starters' megas a secret and used them for marketing at the very least.

What I suggest is basing the next game in Kalos, with Hoopa hoops scattered around it that can transport you to various (limited) locations around the past 5 regions for sidequests. Realistic, plausible and fair.

Perhaps it is too soon to say what will happen to mainstream Pokemon in 2015. All I know is that this most recent Direct wasn't the right time because it occurred after this month's Corocoro release.

Note that I'd rather have a XY2 (if we got some kind of BF DLC) or Z and Delta Emerald (if we didn't get said DLC) than Kanto remakes. Although I agree with >>22530958, remember Diamond and Pearl were terrible before being saved by their third version.
