For what, exactly?

I always get both cause I like to trade with myself (just in case I want to evolve Seadra at 3 AM), and mostly because I like to collect the physical games.

I wouldn't say it's money well spent, but videogames are not that costly when you have a job.

I have both OR and AS (my main).

Honestly just get Pokemon Bank. Play through the game, store your mons, and play again. Repeat mons (legendaries, gift mons) can then be traded for whatever the fuck you want on the GTS.

I know what you mean. I've been considering getting Alpha Sapphire just to see how Sapphire's story has been tweaked since the GBA days.

With a second game and some planning it takes about 6 or less hours to go from start to finish and catch new legendaries.

Besides, you can also transfer items and hoard them in your main version, something the Bank isn't able to do because Nintendo doesn't know their own game.

Not saying it's worth the money, but if you can afford it, it does have advantages.
