>>22533439I think it's interesting how they made Moonblast really good. In the same generation, most other powerful special attacks had their base power nerfed (120 > 110, 95 > 90, ect.). Moonblast is a counterpart to Ice Beam, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Psychic and Energy Ball, but keeps the 95 base power, has perfect accuracy, high PP, and a much higher secondary effect chance than the rest.
It's actually more comparable to the 80 base power group of moves, but with a power buff. Meanwhile, Draining Kiss had its base power slashed from 75 to 50, Play Rough sucks, and most other Fairy type moves have lower base power than usual.
Maybe it's all t balance out how powerful Moonblast, Pixilate, and physical Fairies are?
