Battle Frontier will be in this year's game, whether it be a new game (no reason we can't have two new regions per gen) or Z/XZ/YZ using the railroad to go to a second region

Gamefreak's guys said that they didn't put the Battle Frontier in ORAS because they considered it to be way too challenging, and they thing that's a bad thing because kids have smartphones nowadays.

So no, there's not going to be a battle frontier unless Gamefreak changes his mind. And we all know how much they dislike changing stuff.

That is true, but no one can deny that the games have been made a lot more easier, a.k.a "casual players friendly", and they consider the BF to be something no one wants to spend time nowadays because muh candy crush

That's because they were tiny games that needed to be bulked out a bit otherwhise people would be a bit bummed out having paid good money for games that were less than half the size of the Gen III games, which has remained the standard pokemon game length ever since.

This. People are too busy masturbating to Gen II to realize the games had fucking nothing in comparison to everything from Gen III onwards. Most gamers would prefer Delta Episode than BF, so that's what GF did and it paid off.

Exactly.

People go on about how Gen II had two regions to explore, yet in reality the Johto region was very small and the joke that was the Kanto region in that game was basically just a cut down version where you visited the gyms and the cape only.

I'm not saying that the first two gens were bad, far from it they deserve a lot of the praise they get, but they were very, very short by today's standards.

Having played the the BF in Emerald first time around I can say I appreciated the Delta episode more. There is not even really a need for a Battle Frontier when they have the Maison in the game anyway as the Maison offers a superior gameplay experience to the BF and more battles.
