this is a good thing

if you don't have the charger you have to buy one anyway. if they bundled it with the system you would just pay more for the system.

this way you don't have to buy the charger if you don't need one. plus if they bundled it, it would cost even more due to increased shipping tax and higher manufacturing costs.

again, this is a good thing.

if you want to complain, complain that only the XL is available and with no face plates.

I couldn't give a fuck about faceplates though, aside from maybe putting the white ones on the black or vice versa.
Face tracking, more powerful CPU and nfc for amiibo were also things that made me want to pick one up. Now I'm kind of on the fence.

Honestly, I prefer it this way. Better for the environment, and otherwise if you have to buy two 3DSes (like I did when mine was stolen during a break-in) you don't have to be forced to buy two chargers.

Best-case scenario would be that they switch to the microUSB chargers for cell phones though.

Isn't it more to GFs bad game design? I mean I'm no tech wizard but wouldn't games designed with the N3DS in mind take advantage of its features? Like Smash Bros for instance, which doesn't lock you out of internet browser/Miiverse access and allows you to use the C-stick for smash attacks and such

The XL is a tiny bit small for me but I guess it's probably spot on for most, the non-XL N3DS still seems a little small

While I think it's dumb they don't include an option to get a charger for people who haven't bought a 3ds yet, they sell for wicked cheap at Gamestop (A lot of wires and cords do. Hell, I got some for free for xbox once because they just have such a huge amount of overstock on them sometimes).

The system isn't what's responsible for the framerate, the game is. Blame Gamefreak.

Aside from these things, I haven't heard a damn thing about the new 3ds. What's different? Is it the same size as the currrent 3dsXL or bigger?

What are reasons I would buy this when my current 3DS works fine?

I read somewhere that only the N-3DS XL is being sold in NA because the 3DS XL outsold the regular 3DS here.

Why would you want two chargers anyways? If you really have the money to buy a new handheld, you can spend another $5-$10 for a new charger.

And blame GameFreak for poorly optimizing the XY engine.

I'm 6'2" and preferential to the XLs so I don't look ridiculous holding them/hands dont cramp up/I don't care about faceplates, I just wanted to point out that the regular New 3DS is a bit larger than the OG model since it sounds like a bunch of people seem to think the New one is the same size.

I do wish the N3DSXL had the SNES buttons though. Those are rad.
