Hi /vp/, newfag here who's skipped over most of the DS gen Pokemans. I just have a few quick questions:

1) Can I buy B/W2 without buying the first versions? Do I miss out on much by doing so?
2) Would you recommend HS/SS over Gen 4? I'm told HG/SS is just a remake done in the Gen 4 engine - so which is the better experience?
3) If not, what's the definitive Gen 4 experience; Platinum?
4) Is there any merit to picking up LG/FR to play through? Is it pretty much exactly like the original?
