His statement about a perfect scenario is pure, unadulterated bullshit.
Smogon also doesn't separate itself from the programmed balance for the sake of being "elite". They do it to offer a less centralizing metagame. Hell, saying that Smogon does this isn't even entirely correct. It's the actual community. Those that play said metagame on at least a somewhat competent level have a say.
Fuck, Verlisify should be able to take the shitfest by storm, alongside his legion of loyal fans, if they're half as good as he thinks he is. They could probably prevent these "unjust" bans then.
Of course, that's if they care. If they don't play the metagame, why care? But here we see him very much caring.
