>>22544308That might be regional asshat. We called highschool classes just "School" or what the subject was if we were being specific (English for example).
Example: "Remember the kid who played Pokemon in school? He'd always take out his gameboy during lunch or even during English between readings."
For college, it's "Going to class" rather than "Going to school" but they're generally used interchangably depending on if you're actually going to the college for a class or for general college things (library, projects, events etc).
