Really Greninja isn't outright broken like Mega Mence or Mega Mom were, it was largely banned because it completely destroyed Balance while still being fast enough to be a threat to offensive teams even if it gets worn down by Life Orb, as well as really limiting teambuilding.
I imagine in gen7 it'll probably be OU again.
