I was that kid in the neighborhood who knew the TCG inside and out, and went around teaching my siblings and the other kids how to play. I could still play competently today, if I had any Energy cards.

What I found odd was that was the case for like 99% of the people who had Pokemon cards, but fucking everyone knew how to play Yugioh on some level.

Sure, most people went by anime rules and didn't know what the fuck was going on, but Pokemon players didn't even try.

What's funny about this is that Pokemon at the time was much more simplier than YGO. When I played at school it was just basically like I Declare War but the one with higher HP atk won. Pic related, I friend at grade school gave me this I think.

They've been doing two Pokemon with all of their Megas per set, and four sets a year. And now that the focus is on ORAS, there's no real reason why they wouldn't just stick to the five billion Hoenn Megas for the next year.
Face it, the only way we're getting Mega Tyranitar or Mega Alakazam before 2016 is if they're promos.
