Its like a a fucking encyclopedia, a step to step guide through the single player with "Come back here when you finish X to be able to do X" things, pages that show you NPC Trades and helpful NPC's, weaknesses for each E4 Pokémon.
It has the Gen 1-4 National Dex with how to obtain them and all their possible Moves
A guide through the Battle Frontier, and the Brains teams (Palmer has a Regigigas, like wow) and a strategy guide section that actually has legit strategies. Some of them are super simple like Earthquake + Flying mon in doubles, but still.
For like a year, that book was my bible.
Was rather disapointed when the HeartGold/SoulSilver guide came out and I found that you had to buy Volume 2 for the Post Game Guide/National Dex Guide
I didn't buy Volume 2 though, everything in the Post-Game could be found on Serebii with ease, and I still had the Platinum Guide so the Nat Dex was no biggie.
