Since before it was a fairy, but I may actually count XY as the point where it overtook Golduck as my favorite Water-type as well (it was always between the two).

I picked up an Azurill and didn't touch it much throughout the game. Then I started thinking "I'll need a fairy against Drasnea," and picked it up. Sent it to the massage parlour to evolve it, played with it in Amie.

Holy shit it was fucking adorable. And Amie's mic use gave me the habit of calling it by its nickname to get its attention.

I kind of miss following Pokemon but this is so much better.
