But seriously, blame OR/AS for making its movepool go full retard. It was already a top-tier Pokemon whose only good counters were bulky fairies and Ass Vest pivots. Which Gunk Shot and Low Kick all eliminated. Because of this it made balanced teams completely unplayable and offence had to carry random scarf shit just to revenge-kill it. People were carrying shit like Porygon2 just to switch into it safely. It wasn't banned because it threatened stall, that had the least problems with Greninja.
