Who else feels that Gen 4 was the last of the classic Pokemon games? While admittedly I liked Gen 5 as a whole, it took the series into a different direction I feel that I just can't quite put my tongue on. I do like most of the designs in Gen 5 and 6, but the regions for whatever reason just don't have the same kind of feeling to me. And maybe because of the thought of there being a kind of alternate universe where technology in the Pokemon world didn't take off extraordinarily fast and Mega Evolution doesn't exist. I guess I just feel as the games progressed the story and Teams became more of the main focus. Or perhaps it's just that I miss the simplicity of sprites (I know Gen 5 was sprites), or maybe it's to do with how Pokemon games have become yearly releases, I just don't know.
