Any advice for a noob game/ map maker? I'm just doing this for fun in RPG maker but something just feels off about my maps. Anyone wanna give me some constructive criticism? Also romhack/ mapping general too I guess

All this, plus the lack of rocks in the dark water and the fact that some parts of the beach look too square

Just general constructive criticism. For the most part, it looks pretty good (:

Its definitely got potential. The main things i'd say though which should be tweaked a bit.
>grass and sand don't work together and neither do plants outside of maybe trees so maybe make the top section all grass(?)
>deep water tiles feel should have some rocks or something bordering part way through
>two lighthouses near each other doesn't feel like it would fit
>docks a bit small
Other than that, its looking pretty okay so far.

Looks nice, but you should put some rock/dirt/whatever tiles under the buildings.
You know, buildings bulit on sand are a terrible idea (don't mention that pokèmon actually did that with Dewford town).

Also I'd make the house on the top right not touch the borders of that pseudo hill.
