Are you fucking kidding me? They already dropped the catchphrase once for no reason. They shouldn't drop it again. Pokemon's always been about collecting, and if some people can't do it because there's too many, who cares?

If you've read the article, you would see it's about more than just the damn catchphrase. Before reading I too thought it was just some dumb american company suing nintendo because they have copyrights on the phrase or something.

But what it says it that Nintendo is thinking about making Pokemon no longer be about catching pokemon anymore, which is pretty much the core of this fucking franchise.

Well, as we walk ever closer to the inevitable Pokemon MMORPG we gotta start getting comfortable with the idea that not everyone is gonna have every Pokemon. In fact they'll probably put the breaks on legendaries and event pokemon so only a few people in the world are going to have them.

I think he was talking about Pokemon Shuffle and Pokken, meaning that we will have many more new games starring Pokemon where you can't catch them. Pokemon Kart, Pokemon Party Board, Pokemon Smash, etc

He didn't say it LITERALLY. It was more like an exaggeration that at a certain point there will be so many Pokemon that catching them all will be an extremely difficult task, even more than today, and they may stop encouraging players from doing that (although absolutely nothing implies they will discourage players from catching them all).
