Hitmontop is the unique third addition, so anyone who says he doesn't deserve the spot is an idiot. Plus he'd probably have the most interesting gameplay.

why wouldn't they all be chosen? besides machamp they were always the first choices for a game like this in my mind. I'd love to see all of them, if I had to chose however I'd probably go with Hitmonchan, his elemental punches surely would look great with this style of animation.

But yeah if they seriously won't include all three they'll probably go with Hitmontop I guess

Not enough DIVERSITY.

I'd prefer to see Tyrogue. He's the only one that could convincingly pull off all 3 fighting styles and since we already have Pikachu there's no reason we couldn't have the shortstack in the mix.

Tyrogue would be possible, however what's with all those "diversity" talk going on everywhere? Diversity of types isn't nearly as important as diversity in fighting style and the fightingstyles of the 3 Tyrogue evolutions couldn't be any more different.

I had an idea for an evolving Tyrogue that I posted in a previous thread on /v/. I'm gonna post it again here to get your guys opinion on it.

Tyrogue would work like this. It would have a unique meter that is filled up with "power points" (pp) from attacks landed and "block points" (bp) from attacks blocked. This meter is separate from the "mega mode" meter. (like how little mac has a unique KO meter in Smash Bros). When it's filled you can evolve into Hitmonchan if the meter is >=60% pp or Hitmonlee if the meter is >=60% bp. Else you turn into Hitmontop. Hitmonchan is a glass cannon with powerful elemental punches. Hitmonlee has quick blocks and good combos with his kicking and stretch kick attacks and Hitmontop is somewhere between the other two.

Tyrogue gets a focus blast attack that coverts some bp into an attack to help it get more pp in the meter. It also has move where you spend some power points to create a passive defensive buff were the damage it absorb gives some block points. that way you can get the right mix before you evolve.

Interesting? Too complex?

Hitmonchan > Hitmonlee > Hitmontop > Tyrogue
