Dexnav chaining is hell in water or in a cave, so if you have Y version, I actually suggest fish chaining it instead. Suction Cups will increase the chance of a bite, but rather than that, cast out so that your bobber is surrounded by rocks, as that will increase your fishing encounter chance as well, and it will allow you to use your first slot for a Synchronizer, which gives you a chance of controlling a wild encounter's nature.
