Stat boost is well rounded, a big increase in attack and defense changes the way Charizard was typically played before.
Ability further boosts most physical moves giving further synergy to it's stat distribution.
Great movepool, can lead to a variety of builds; pure offense with Dragon Dance, bulky build for it's improved defense with Will-o-Wisp, access to recovery moves like Roost.
In short. Fucking everything went right.
