So I'm thinking of using a Tyrunt on my alpha sapphire team, since Im restarting the game. Is he good in ORAS or is he still just mediocre.

Shame it can't really do much with it outside of a destructive Head Smash. I mean, being a better Rampardos is something, but not a lot. Still fairly mediocre, wouldn't you say?

I like Tyrantrum, so I was hoping that it would at least get something else to use with Rock Head. While it's more destructive, it feels like it misses the mark just like Strong Jaw did.

I use him for move coverage cause free stab elemental jaws. But yeah outside of headsmash he doesn't have many options. Too many people keep rock disposal moves ;_;

The best thing that can happen to Tyrantrum at this point is for it get access to Wild Charge and Heat Crash. Those, coupled with STAB Head Smash and DDance could be a destructive set
