They are something that would take maybe 2 days worth of work to correct but no one bothered. There is no way you could get through that game and not realize it was an eyesore. They are everywhere. It is really fucking sloppy.
This problem was not present in XY. They were able to construct an overworld without it looking THIS bad. Do not make excuses for GF.
Even so, it is an incredibly minor problem. But that's part of the point. It's incredibly minor and not even addressed. It helps explains why GF couldn't get the battle frontier in the game, for example. They cut corners everywhere for a fucking remake.
It's like if your teacher asked you to turn in the same paper you wrote a month ago and just change a few words and you still couldn't be bothered to spellcheck the changes.
