I've liked him ever since Gen 4.
He has sword arms.
Sword. Arms.
I just never used him because he wasn't good enough competitively to warrant breeding one.
I don't have ORAS yet, but how's his Mega?
Please say good, or at least worth using in some cases

I don't hate him. Pretty good design, better mega design, fun to use.

And he's kind of great for contests in ORAS. Won me every Master ribbon without ever even coming close to losing.

Except that's not usage data, that's viability ranking.
Mega-Gallade almost entirely outclasses Mega-Medicham through combination of more bulk, better movepool, and being above 100 base speed.

Its more on how you set up your team. Plus a high jump kick from medicham can beat gallade, maybe close combat can beat medicham

They both occupy the same niche as a Psychic/Fighting-type wallbreaker, so teams are going to be built around the two almost identically.
And Close Combat is much better than Hi-Jump Kick, by virtue of having 100% accuracy at only 10 less base power.

Gallade gets Swords Dance, Anon. And forces out plenty of things in the meta so it can get that Swords Dance off. And lowered defenses is definitely better than having a chance of missing your attack and losing half of your health.

I see where you are coming from. But gallade is not that much better, if any than medicham. His hjk/cc with pure power will put a hole in anything that doesn't have immunity better then gallade can

Mega Medicham doesn't get Close Combat.
All it has over Gallade is immediate power, which is patched up easily by Gallade's Swords Dance. And Gallade gets the most spammable move in the game right now, Knock Off. Hell, Gallade has such solid neutral coverage with STABs and Knock Off that it can run other moves in the fourth slot like Skill Swap for fucking over Mega Sableye or Will-o-wisp.
There's just no reason to use Mega Medicham over Mega Gallade, other than personal preference.
